Terms of Service

Last updated: May 25, 2026

Welcome to FamCal. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use FamCal.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a FamCal account. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to use the service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Your Account

FamCal uses Google OAuth for authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs under your FamCal account. Each person should use only one account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Family Groups

FamCal is organized around family groups. When you create or join a family:

  • Family admins can invite new members via invite codes and remove existing members.
  • All family members can view shared events and schedules within the family.
  • Admins manage family-level settings, including member roles and display preferences.
  • When you leave or are removed from a family, you lose access to that family's shared events.

4. Acceptable Use

FamCal is intended for personal family scheduling and coordination. You agree not to:

  • Use the service for commercial purposes or to operate a business.
  • Post harassing, abusive, threatening, or illegal content in event titles or descriptions.
  • Attempt to access other families' data or interfere with the service's operation.
  • Use automated systems to access the service without our permission.

5. Your Content

You retain full ownership of the events, schedules, and other content you create in FamCal. By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the service. We do not use your content for advertising, sell it to third parties, or access it for any purpose beyond operating FamCal.

6. Service Availability

FamCal is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We strive to keep the service running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes.

7. Termination

You may stop using FamCal and request deletion of your account and data at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with notice when reasonably possible. Upon termination, your personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FamCal and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. This includes, but is not limited to, missed events, scheduling conflicts, or any reliance on the accuracy of calendar data. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any).

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of FamCal after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
